Betty Jean Shipley age 82, of Warren, Arkansas died Thursday, June 5 at her home. She was born August 18, 1925 in Franklinton, LA a daughter of the late William Franklin Carr and Thelma Bankston Carr. She was a housewife, homemaker and member of Wood Avenue A.R.P. Church in Monticello, Arkansas. She is survived by her spouse Ray Calvin Shipley, Sr. whom she married July 20, 1945 in Columbia, Miss. 1 son, Ray Calvin Shipley, Jr. Arkadelphia, Arkansas. 1 daughter Carla Jean Vandal, Baton Rouge, La. 2 brothers Franklin Carr and Layton Carr, Franklinton, La. 2 sisters Virginia Phillips, Rainbow City, Ala.; and Billie Warren, Franklinton, La. 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial services were 2:00pm Saturday, June 7th, at Frazers Chapel by Rev. Mike Garvey. Linda Barrett was the organist.. Burial was in Hickory Springs Cemetery by Frazers Funeral Home.
