When John Martin "JM" McKay was born on January 18, 1865, his father, was 20 and his mother, was 16. He married Johnie Bell and they had three children together. He then married Ella Gertrude Stevenson and they had four children together. He died on March 17, 1933, in Faulkner, Arkansas, at the age of 68, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
