GENTRY — Ernest "Coke" Wofford, 69, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, in Arkansas. He was born on Sept. 28, 1948, in Delaware County, Okla., to his parents, Ernest Noble Wofford Sr. and Audra Fay Wilbert.
Coke enjoyed pitching horseshoes, OU football, and watching John Wayne westerns and "The Lone Ranger". When he was younger, he loved riding motorcycles with his brothers and working on muscle cars. He was well known for his love of soccer with his son, Brian. He assisted in bringing soccer to Northwest Arkansas. He coached soccer and baseball teams for several years. Coke provided some of the best masonry work in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Coke is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Audra Wofford; siblings, Johnny Wofford, Clara and husband Willard Kilgore, Wayne Wofford, Billy Wofford, and brother-in-law, Chuck Bullard.
Coke is survived by his son, Brian Wofford and significant other, Lee Bergman of Elkins, Ark.; grandson, Alex Bergman of Jane, Mo., granddaughter, Sierra Wofford and fiance', Troy Mills of Royal, Ark.; grandson, Caleb Wofford of Fayetteville, Ark.; great-grandchildren, Kenadie Wofford, Zaylenn Wofford and Emma Mills of Royal, Ark.; siblings, Kay and husband Gene Cooper of Jane, Mo., Bobbie Bullard of Colcord, Okla., Bud and wife Sam Wofford of Colcord, Okla.; Howard and wife Cindy Wofford of Bentonville, Ark.; sisters-in-law; Dani Wofford of Colcord, Okla.; and several nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Coke's family visitation to greet friends was held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, from 6-8 p.m., Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, Okla. 74346. Coke's Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held on Thursday, 2 p.m., March 1, 2018, at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel of Jay, Okla., with Michael Ellis officiating. Burial will be held at Dickson Cemetery, Cherokee City, Ark.
Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, Okla. 74346 with Shaunda J. Lawson, Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
