September 21, 1885 - November 7, 1938
Thomas "Tom" Oren Meek, 51, passed from this life on November 7, 1938 at his home on 415 North 13th Street in Van Buren, Arkansas after an illness of several weeks, suffering from Anemia. He was born September 21, 1887 in Gibson County, Tennessee to J W and Sisley Ann Wright Meek. He was a widely known Van Buren resident and former Crawford County Tax Assessor for two terms in 1933 through 1936. He was a member of the Knight of Phythias Lodge and of the First Presbyterian Church in Van Buren. He is survived by his wife Camille Meek; son Harold Meek, daughter, Mrs Fred Bruton of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Brother Homer Meek of Mulberry, Arkansas; sisters Mrs Lee Zuber Sr, and Mrs J B Perrymore of Van Buren; and grandson, Tommy Meek of Fort Smith.

August 10, 1887 - August 27, 1985
Mrs Camelle Meek, 97, of 415 North 13th , Van Buren, Arkansas, died at a local nursing home, August 27, 1985. She was the daughter of Henry and Sophiarena Perkins Epperson. She was a member of Van Buren First Presbyterian Church, where she was the oldest member. She was a lifelong resident of Crawford County, a former member of the Eastern Star and several garden clubs.
