Eugene Nipp, 82, passed away February 27th at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born in Aspermont, Texas on June 20, 1938. Gene served in the Army for six years before returning home to marry his sweetheart, Linda Ragsdale. Gene and his family migrated to Arkansas in 1974, and eventually settled in Avoca. Gene was a very successful Plant Supervisor for Stone Container for many years. After retiring, he served several years as Mayor of Avoca, and was responsible for many city improvements including the paving of most major streets.

Gene enjoyed fishing, nature watching, and gardening. Thanks to the generous dispersal of corn, he had deer, squirrels, and countless birds in his yard daily. Gardening in God’s Garden was a passion for him, and he gave away nearly everything he grew to friends and neighbors.

Gene loved to talk, especially about our Lord and Savior. What really got him excited was talking about the Holy Spirit and sharing his beliefs with others. Gene was a great patriot and supporter of the United States of America and the Constitution.

Gene was preceded in death by Linda, his wife of 60 years his parents, John Verner Nipp and Loretta Nipp; two stepparents, (Reva and Ed) with whom he was very close; and three sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by two children, Teresa Schwartz (Larry) of Gravette, and Terry Nipp (Jolene) of West Branson, Missouri; one grandchild, (Whitley J. Nipp) of Monett, Missouri; one great-grandchild (Isaiah) of Monett, Missouri; 3 sisters, Vickie Majors of Gorman, Texas, Roberta Stewart of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Netta McLean of Lake Palestine, Texas.

Visitation will be at Rollins Funeral Home on HWY 102 in Rogers, Thursday, March 4th, from 5-7 p.m.

The funeral will be held Friday, March 5th, at 2 p.m. at Boundless Grace Baptist Church, 222 Little Flock Drive, in Rogers, AR, with the Reverend Joshua Ramsey officiating. Interment at Tucks Chapel Cemetery, will follow the service.

(Covid 19 precautions are in place at All Services, including the wearing of masks by all attendees).
