Susan Caroline Ross was born on February 1, 1907, in Faulkner, Arkansas. She married William Matthew Bono on July 11, 1924, in her hometown. They had nine children in 20 years. She died on January 3, 1989, in Greenbrier, Arkansas, at the age of 81, and was buried there.
