Robert "Danny" Turman, 56, of Van Buren, Arkansas died Thursday, July 28, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born March 25, 1949, in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was a retired postal clerk, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he received three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star; member of First Baptist Church of Van Buren, the American Legion, Masonic Lodge No 6 of Van Buren, a past worthy patron of the Barling Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughter Lori Pollock of Van Buren; sons, Rick, David, Mark and Lindsey Turman all of Van Buren; his mother and stepfather, Helen and Denton Stringer of Uniontown, Arkansas; sisters, Peggy and Mary Kuykendall, both of Van Buren and Roberta Robertson of Fort Smith; and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Patrick Mahar, Michael Kuykendall, Chuck Mahar, Camden Whorten and David Robertson. Honorary pallbearers were Dr Wendall Ross, Arvin Kuykendall, Charles Mahar and Leonard and Gerald Watkins.

Rachel Marie Flynn Turman, 54, of Van Buren, Arkansas entered into rest on Thursday, June 8, 2006 in Fort Smith. She was born November 16, 1951 in Neosho, Missouri, the daughter of Louis Albert and Leda Likens Flynn. She was a beautiful vibrant woman who loved her grand - children greatly and her church family. She was retired purchasing supervisor for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, member of Van Buren First Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star in Barling and Arkansas Highway Department Retirement Association and past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.
Rachel was the widow of Robert "Danny" Turman.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Tracy Ann Jenson; and brother, Mike Flynn.
She is survived by sons, Rick and wife, Susan, David and wife, Tracy, and Mark Turman, all of Van Buren; mother and father-in-law, Denton and Helen Stringer of Van Buren; sisters Linda Mahar and husband, Charles of Van Buren and Beverly Fisher of Fort Smith; brother, Larry Flynn of Pasadena, Texas; grandchildren, Stacie, Zachary, Noah, Jacob, Luke and Hunter Turman; and aunts, Freda Goolsbee of Detroit, Michigan, Sue Waldron of Woodlands, Texas and Betty Lowe of Scranton, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were Patrick Mahar, Chuck Mahar, Michael Kuykendall, Howard Mahar, David Robertson and Bradley Fry. Honorary pallbearers were Dr Wendall Ross, Gerald Watkins, Charles Mahar and Roy Burkhart.
