Orville Everett "Big Boy" Owens, 77, of DeWitt, died Feb. 11 at the DeWitt Nursing Home in DeWitt. He was born June 19, 1930, in DeWitt to Henry R. Owens and Mary Alice Burtram Owens. He worked as a mechanic and a timber cutter. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertie Weather and Wendy R. Jones and his parents.
Survivors include one son, Terry Owens Sr. of DeWitt; two grandchildren, Stacia Horton and her husband, Justin, of DeValls Bluff and Terry Owens Jr. of DeWitt; one great-granddaughter, Cassidy Horton; one sister, Addie Puttroff of Pine Bluff; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church in DeWitt with Bro. Walls officiating. Burial will be in Forks LaGrue Cemetery by McKinzie Funeral Home of DeWitt.
