BENTONVILLE — Joe William Conner Sr., 85, of Bentonville, Ark., surrounded by family passed onto his Savior Jesus Christ on March 4, 2018. Joe was born in Bentonville on Sept. 9, 1932, to Cevil and Cora Lee (Lindner) Conner.

After graduation from BHS in 1950, Joe entered the U.S. Air Force and served his country for four years attaining an E5 rank. He then attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, graduating in 1958.

On June 7, 1956, Joe married his sweetheart, Shirley Faye Moore, and they enjoyed 49 wonderful years together in marriage.

Joe's career working with the U.S. Government Department of Defense spanned 30-plus years. Joe also worked at Walmart in Bentonville for 13 years and retired in 2005. Joe was also a 32nd degree Mason. Joe will also be forever remembered for his love of his savior Jesus Christ, his family, his country and last but not least, his Razorbacks! WPS!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cevil Conner, who died in WWII, and Paul Lindner and Corra Lee Gammil (Conner) Lindner and his first wife, Shirley Faye (Moore) Conner.

He is survived by his sons, Joe (Kim) Conner of Coppell, Texas, Marcus (Jan) Conner of Bentonville; and his daughters, Cindy (Dean) Hunt of Bentonville, Jennifer Conner of Bentonville; grandchildren, Stacey (Hunt) Kaundart, John Conner, Kristy (Hunt) Branscum, Patrick Conner and Marshall Conner; great-grandchildren, Hannah Kaundart, Olivia Kaundart, Jude Michael Branscum, Annslee Branscum, and Mackenzie Conner. Joe is also survived by his wife, Sherry Gaylyean (Campbell) Conner and her children, Kelly (Randy) Rose and Chuck Campbell; step-grandchildren, Devin Gamache, Candice Reshef, and McKaylee Campbell; step-great-grandchild, Olivia Walker.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Little Flock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice http://nwacircleoflife.com/donatesupport/ or your local animal shelter.

Shirley F. Conner, 67, of Bentonville died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County.

She was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Jamestown, Texas, to Clyde Moore and Edna Heath Moore. Shirley graduated from Bentonville High School, Class of 1956. She was a majorette in the Bentonville High School Band, and played the clarinet. Shirley enjoyed gardening, flowers, taking walks, fishing, cooking and reading Christian books. Shirley is a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Bentonville and, because of her love for children, has always been involved with the nursery department in whatever church she was attending.

Her passion revolved around her grandchildren and always wanted to be involved in their lives, activities and functions. She moved back to Bentonville in 1990 from New Boston, Texas.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Joe W. Conner, of the home; two sons, Joe W. Conner Jr., and his wife Kimberly of Coppell, Texas, Marcus P. Conner and his wife Janette of Bentonville; two daughters, Cindy Hunt and her husband Dean of Bentonville; Jennifer Shuptrine of Bentonville; two brothers, John Moore of Fort Worth, Texas, Joe Moore of Springdale; one sister, Louise Slyter of Rogers; five grandchildren, Stacey Hunt of Bentonville, John Conner of Coppell, Kristy Hunt of Bentonville, Patrick Conner of Coppell, and Marshall Conner of Bentonville. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, in the Little Flock Cemetery with the Rev. Don Morrow officiating.

Memorials may be made in honor of Shirley F. Conner to the First Christian Church of Bentonville, Building Fund, 807 S.E. 14th St., Bentonville 72712.

Funeral arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
