Mary B Rivera, 75, a resident of Frisco, Texas passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018, in Plano, Texas. She was born March 26, 1943, in the Mt Salem community near Paris, Arkansas to Caleb Pete and Beulah Marie Rogers Forline. Mary spent her working years as a kindergarten teacher at the First Baptist Church School in Long Beach, California for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Long Beach, California. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Rivera and her daughter, Julie Rivera.
Survivors include sons, Manuel Rivera and wife Anna Ayala of California, Jerry Rivera, Jr of Oklahoma, Andrew Rivera and spouse, Ivan Canela of California and Michael Rivera and wife, Priscilla Rivera of Texas; daughters, Deana Minard-Rivera and spouse, Gina Minard-Rivera of North Carolina, Julia Gomez-Rivera and husband Paul Gomez of California, Victoria Massanet and husband, Anthony Massanet of Texas and Stephanie Liston and husband Christopher Liston of Texas; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Private burial in Mt Salem near Paris will be under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Mary's favorite verse was 1 Corinthians 10:13. "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
