Velma Ola Mae Wages Young, 93, of St. Charles died January 27, 2018. She was born August 8, 1924 in DeWitt to J.V. and Emma Jenkins Wages.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lewis Young; son Lewis Carl Young; and siblings John Wages, Dorothy Peebles, and Frank Wages.
Ola is survived by her daughters Joyce Terry (Tommy, Sr.) and Jeanne Owenby (Woody) both of DeWitt; three grandchildren Tommy Terry, Jr., Laura Ann Griffie, and Shannon Hudgins; seven great grandchildren Donovan, Wesley, Ashley, Bryce, Lindsey, Destiny, and Hunter; brother James Wages; and long time companion James Reichenbach of St. Charles.
Funeral services will be 2:00 January 31 at St. Charles Baptist Church with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens by Essex Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Charles Baptist Church.
