Opal Grissom Watkins, 81, passed away September 26, 2018. She was born December 27, 1936 in Town Creek, AL to James and Sadie Grissom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jimmy Carl Watkins; two brothers O'Neal and Raymond Grissom; and sister Lola Mae Dumond.
She is survived by her son Roger Watkins (Rai) of DeWitt; six grandchildren Jerome McDonald, Shawn Watkins, D.J. Watkins, Allan Hubbard, Carl Youngblood, and Daniel Youngblood; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. September 30 at the McAdams Road Church with burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens by Essex Funeral Home.

When Jimmy Carl Watkins was born on February 19, 1935, his father, Lawrence, was 43 and his mother, Cora, was 38. He married on May 11, 1954, in De Witt, Arkansas. He had one child during his marriage. He died on May 29, 2002, in De Witt, Arkansas, at the age of 67, and was buried there.
