December 30, 1937
The community was made sad by two deaths during Christmas week. Mrs. Julia Beavers Fletcher, the last living sister of Mr. Samuel D. Beavers, of Buffalo and the mother of Messra, J.E. and John S. Fletcher of Lone Pine community, passed away at her home at Lone Pine on Sunday evening, December 19th. Her funeral was conducted at the old Heiskill Cemetery at Lone Pine, where the burial took place on Tuesday the 21st. A large number of friends and relatives were present. The funeral sermon on the subject 'Going Home for Christmas', was preached by Clarence H. Vance of Buffalo. A number of old familiar songs were sung. Mrs. Fletcher, who had been ill only a few day, had lived to the ripe old age of 83 and was known and loved by everyone in the community.
