June Marie Dumas, "June Bug", 78, of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Medical Center of Southern Arkansas.
She was born on June 5, 1934, in Lawton, Oklahoma to the late Alice "Tootsie" (Meddlin) Gelvin and James Lloyd Gelvin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Magnolia.
June retired from JC Penny in 2002 and was a charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she had countless wonderful memories with her sorority sisters. She loved to travel and enjoyed the company of her circle of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Gelvin.
June is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, William Benjamin "W.B." Dumas of Magnolia; two sons, Rodney Wayne Dumas of Magnolia, Texas and Michael Ray Dumas of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Joshua Aaron Dumas, Melissa Lynn Dumas, Cameron Elizabeth Dumas, and Benjamin Forbes Dumas; and two great granddaughters, Isabella Hayes and Olivia Hayes. Five grandchildren live in the Houston metropolitan area and one granddaughter lives in Austin, Texas.
We will cherish June's friendship and big heart and all of the loving moments we had with her.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday July, 18, 2012 at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. David Watkins officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
