Ms. Tommie Sue Gordon of Almyra, Arkansas, died, Wedmesday, June 2, 2010. Ms. Gordon was 81 years, 11 months, and 17 days old. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Rose Cheney.
Ms. Gordon was a graduate of DeWitt High School and was crowned the 2nd Miss Arkansas County in 1944. Ms. Gordon married Stuart Gordon in 1947. IT was a double wedding, with Fay and Mary Louise Shireman.
Ms. Gordon was a homemaker and a mother. Later, after the children were grown, she worked and retired from DeWitt Bank and Trust Company. She was also a member of the DeWitt 1st United Methodist Church and was the 1st of 4 generations of Girls Scouts in her family.

Ms. Gordon was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 43 years; a son: Bobby Gordon; two sisters: Billie Ruth Cheney Thompson and Rosemary Cheney Currie.
She is survived by a daughter: Jeannie Carmichael and her husband, Bill, of Conway; three grandchildren, Sharon Neal of Lake Wylie, SC, Alisa Beck and her husband, Kevin, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Chad Carmichael and his wife, Heather, of Savannah, GA; five great-grandchildren, Michael Neal, Olivia Beck, Zoe Beck, Quentin Beck and Gordon Carmichael; a brother-in-law, Dale Gordon; nieces and nephews, Steve Currie, Marc Thompson, Lance Lieblong, Marilyn Wilson, Lance Gordon, Dana Bates, Annette Hull and Kelly McDonald; and her adopted family, Andy, Kathy, Samantha and Abbie Radomski.

Funeral services were held at the 1st United Methodist Church on the 7th day of June, 2010. Rev. Larry Martineau, officiated the services. She was laid to rest at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens.
