When Marlene McGahhey was born on June 12, 1927, her father, Barney, was 36, and her mother, Thelma, was 31. She married Chlorus William Gilbert on October 26, 1946, in Arkansas, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. She died on October 14, 1978, in De Witt, Arkansas, at the age of 51.
