1890 - 1920
*Obituary
The subject of this sketch, Mrs. Ela Westmoreland was born May 8, 1890, was the daughter of Thomas J. and Nancy E. Shirrill; was married to Forrest M. Westmoreland Aug. 23rd, 1907. To this union was born seven children, all of whom are still living. She was converted in Aug, 1910, and sanctified a few days later. She lived a life consistent with her profession, and died Oct. 31, 1920. SHe was a member of the Church of the Nazarene at Westmoreland church. We could not pay a higher tribute to her than to say she was a Godly wife and mother, that she fulfilled her mission in the world and has gone to be with Him who gave His life that we might all have life eternal. Her simple faith, her victorious life and triumphant death will be an inspiration to us all till we meet on the other side. Sam Westmoreland (Nevada County Picayune - November 18, 1920)
