James Robert Teeter, age 82, passed away June 20th, 2007 at his home in Yankton, South Dakota.
He was born October 31, 1924 to Burl and Atha Teeter, in Russellville, Arkansas and grew up on Crow Mountain. James graduated from Pottsville High School in 1942. He was drafted into the Army in 1943 where he served under General Patton during World War II. James served his country with honor in the Battle of the Bulge and up and down the Ryne River, where he was wounded twice. He was a Bazooka Leader and a Military Policeman. After returning from the military James attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville for two years, and then went to Arkansas University in Fayetteville where he graduated in 1949 with a degree in Agriculture.
While at Fayetteville, James met and married Janece S Turpin. After graduating, James was offered a teaching position at Wayne State College, Wayne Nebraska. James taught Ag classes at Wayne State for a couple of years then he went to work for the Walnut Grove 4x4 feed company. He was their top feed salesman for several years and then decided to start his own Livestock Nutrition business. With knowledge and experience under his belt and a true gift of salesmanship, James was highly successful for over 40 years. He often said he learned how to be a salesman peddling fruits and vegetables on Crow Mountain and later in life he proudly referred to himself as both an Arkansas Hillbilly and a ole peach peddler. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and photography, but his true passion was his work; he truly enjoyed the cattle business.

James is survived by his wife Janece Turpin Teeter, Yankton, South Dakota; sons; Dr Robert Glenn {Chris} Teeter of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Max {Roberta} Teeter of Nashville, Arkansas, Joe {Enid} Teeter of Laramie, Wyoming, daughter Janelle Simpson of Omaha, Nebraska, & 5 grandchildren. sisters, Bobbie McCoy of Houston, Texas, Arletta Anderson of Nashville, Arkansas & brother Darrel M Teeter of Malvern, Arkansas, plus numerous nieces & nephews.
