Charles Henry Carver, 85, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at DeWitt City Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on April 15, 1932 in Van , Arkansas to Lee Oliver and Ida Mae Henderson Carver.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Upon returning from the Army he began a farming career that lasted until 2014. Mr. Carver was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean Jackson Carver and three children, Debbie Caplinger (Jeff) of North Little Rock, Pam Carver of DeWitt, Mike Carver of Little Rock and one grandchild, Beth Caplinger of Batesville. He is survived by siblings John (Barbara) Carver, Dixie Wood, Amos (Carole) Carver, Gene Carver, Laura (Ray) Christine, Elberta (Jerry) Grisham, and Oliver (Fonda) Carver, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Tommy Carver, Bob Carver, Millard Carver, J.D. Carver, Sr., and Nellie Black.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, from 5 to 7 at Essex Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 Tuesday, February 27 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens
