NEWARK - Vivian Glenolene Garner Morrison, 55, of Newark died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Batesville.
Born June 20, 1946, in Cord, she was the daughter of Charles and Velma Hensley Garner. She married Phillip Gary Morrison on May 12, 1967. She was a 1964 graduate of Newark High School and retired in December 2000 after working for 23 years as a deputy assessor in the Independence County Tax Assessor's Office. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Newark, where she was nursery keeper for 20 years, and a member of the Tate-Lynch Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9,577 Auxiliary of Newark. She enjoyed fishing, crafts and bingo.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years and her mother, both of Newark.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Newark with Bill Goodwin and the Rev. Dr. Robert B. Howerton officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at Cord with arrangements by Jackson's Newark Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be John Runsick, Jerry Powell, Bill Austin, Jimmy Austin, Steve Stout and Jerry Shaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Powell and James Langston.
