Robert J "Bobby" Nelson, 70, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born October 10, 1937, at Russellville to J C and Julia Elizabeth Corzine Nelson. He worked at Firestone for 25 years as an engineer and after retiring worked part time for the Area Agency on Aging. He was a United States Air Force veteran; attended the First Assembly of God in Russellville; and loved to watch his grandchildren participate in rodeos. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary E Nelson; and grandson, Garland Ray Baker, III. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Garland Baker of Russellville; brother, Bill Nelson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Lindsey Bartlett and husband Brent of Russellville and Whitney Baker of Stephenville, Texas; great grandson, Cash Bartlett of Russellville; his father-in-law, Z D Phillips of Pottsville, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Jan Krout and husband Leonard of Pottsville; aunt, Minnie Marshall of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were Leonard, Kevin, and Phillip Krout, Jeremy and Brad Nelson, and Brent Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers were Auzie Wofford, Mike Roys, Harold "Butch" George, Jim Heflin, Carol Trustee, Dennis Jackson, and the Area Agency on Aging.
