Leburne Mobley
Mr. Leburne Mobley, 94, of Cord departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Newport.
He was born August 15, 1917 at Cord, the son of Theodore Isaac and Edna Nova (Hatler) Mobley.
He married Miss Alma Lee Anderson on November 6, 1940, and they enjoyed sixty-eight years together before she passed away in 2009.
Mr. Mobley had worked in the timber industry, and was a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church at Cord. He enjoyed gardening, music, watching basketball on television, especially the Razorbacks. Mr. Mobley was especially proud to have served in the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 30's and 40's.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma; and his parents.
Mr. Mobley is survived by four sisters, Ella Melton of Cord, Virginia Melton of Charlotte, Melba Clouse of Batesville, and Lawanda Berry of Batesville; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Teresa Hix.
Funeral services were held at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with interment in Hopewell Cemetery.

NEWPORT — Alma Lee Anderson Mobley, 87, of Newport died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, in Newport.
Born April 26, 1921, in Cord, she was the daughter of Alfred Roy and Golda Walker Anderson. She married Leburne Adam Mobley on Nov. 6, 1940. She was retired from White-Rodgers and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church in Cord.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years; a brother, Van Ray Anderson of Cord; a sister, Billie Jean Carter of North Little Rock; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, R.W. Anderson and Alfred Junior Anderson; and two sisters, Willa Dean Wilson and an infant, Dorothy Anderson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church at Cord. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Jackson's Newark Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Anderson, David Hix, David Anderson, Jay Lynn Anderson, Ray Anderson and J.C. Richmond.
Honorary pallbearers are Don Wayne Anderson, Danny Wilson, Doug Anderson, Grant Anderson, Ricky Anderson and Randy Anderson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
