E. R. Jones, 93, of Pottsville, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born December 28, 1922, on Crow Mountain, son of the late Arley and Zettie Ashmore Jones, in the same house where he would raise his own family and live his entire life. He was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Virginia Bowden Jones; 3 sisters, Beatrice Cameli, Irene Dane, and Vonnie Kelly; daughter, Brenda Robertson; and granddaughter, Melissa Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Norris Williams Jones; 2 daughters, Zettie and husband Bob Holland of Searcy, and Gail and husband Bill Clark of Pottsville; 2 step-daughters, Janice and husband Sam Davis of Springdale, and Carolyn and husband Wayne Brock of Pottsville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM, Monday, April 17, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. David Downum officiating. Burial is in Bowden Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday.
Pallbearers are Albert Martin, Dewey Jones, Heath Brock, George Jones, Wayne Brock, and Jacob Linden. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Norris, Glenn Bond, Jr., and Dr. William Jones.
Memorials in his honor may be made to the Arkansas Hospice c/o River Valley Home, 2405 E. Parkway Suite 3, Russellville, AR, 72802.
