Joseph C. "Slim" Foster, 76, of 323 W. Cook St., died Sunday night at his home following a lengthy illness. Born March 31, 1892 in Texarkana, Tex., he was the son of John and Mattie Foster. He had been a resident of El Dorado since 1921, moving here from Oil City, La. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of American Legion, Roy V. Kinard Post No. 10. He was a retired pipefitter and a member of the Local Pipefitter's Union No. 665, Pine Bluff. He was a member of the First Penecostal Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Addie Myrick Foster of El Dorado. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Young's Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. (El Dorado Times - October 14, 1968)
