January 29, 1876 - August 10, 1966
Mrs. Elizabeth Greenwell Jett, 90, of Smackover died early Wednesday in a Smackover hospital. Born Jan. 29, 1876, in Kaskaskia, Ill., she was the daughter of Robert and Nancy Greenwell. She had lived in Smackover for 42 years and was a member of the Smackover First Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Francis Jett of Smackover; a daughter, Mrs. Nina Murrin of Houston, Tex.; seven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Young's with the Rev. Harold K. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be J. M. Tinsley, A. M. Sprague, Gerald Roberts, Benny Bridges, I. E. Blanks and W. D. Moore. Honorary ones will be Lee Joyner and John Orren. (The El Dorado Times - August 10, 1966)
