Reece N Caudle, 91, of Atkins, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at his home. He was born July 7, 1920, at Caglesville, to Monroe Green Caudle and Viana Jane Patterson Caudle. He was the Pope County Circuit Clerk for 20 years, was a United States Army veteran of World War II, where he was injured in the Battle of the Bulge, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and the Pine Ridge Baptist Church. His primary concern in life was his family, working to keep them intact. He lived a life of sacrifice and concern, and taught his family a good work ethic, honesty and integrity. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Euna Ballard Caudle; two brothers, Veo Caudle and W. J. Caudle; a sister, Clara Causey; and a granddaughter, Pamela Caudle. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Hilda Caudle of Russellville, and Olen and Paulette Caudle of Atkins; three daughters and two sons-in-law, June and Charles Sanford of Kansas City, Missouri, Linda and Jerry Williams of Pottsville, and Karen Ingram of Atkins; a sister, Audra Davis of Pottsville; eight grandchildren, Angela Hagerty of Atkins, Brian Williams of Russellville, Steven Williams and his wife, Shawna, of Russellville, Adam Caudle and his wife, Kelli, of Fayetteville, Justin Sanford and his wife, Janel, of Kansas City, Missouri, Carrie Almon and her husband, Brent, of Beebe, Caleb Ingram and his wife, Bethany, of Russellville, and Cory Ingram of Atkins; nine great-grandchildren, Kristopher, Jeffrey, Julia and Nicholas Hagerty, Emily, Isaac, Jacob and Avery Sanford and Luke Almon; and an unborn great-granddaughter, Eliana Sanford. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the Pottsville First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Jim Huffman and Bro. Charles Sanford. Burial with military honors provided by the Rogers-Rye Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2283 will be in Bells Chapel Cemetery near Atkins, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be two of Mr. Caudle’s nephews, Jim Caudle and Michael Caudle.
