Cora Bell Lawrence Mayfield of Calico Rock, Arkansas.
Cora Bell Mayfield, daughter of the late Ewing Lawrence and Inez Collins Lawrence, was born April 13, 1948 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. She departed this life August 6, 2015 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 67 years 3 months and 24 days. She spent her life as a sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. During her working years, she worked as an LPN at White River Health Care, where she worked for over thirty years. She was of the Jehovah Witness faith.
She is survived by one spouse: Patrick Thompson Jr. of the home; two sons: Gregg Mayfield and wife Lorinda of Calico Rock, Arkansas and Zachary Mayfield of Calico Rock; six step-children: Patrick Thompson III, Tonya Wilcox, Stephanie Cannon, Elizabeth Thompson, John Thompson, and Seth Thompson; five brothers: Junius and Marcia Lawrence of Mtn. View, Arkansas, Harvey and Monica Lawrence of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Obie and Tina Lawrence of Cabot, Arkansas, David and Sherry Lawrence of Calico Rock, and Harold and Robin Lawrence of Mtn. View; two sisters: Carolyn and Charles Craig of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Phyllis and Ronnie Hill of Mountain Home; six grandchildren Sarah Starr, Erica Mayfield, Payten Mayfield, Brett Mayfield, Daniel Mayfield, and Oliver Churchman; two great grandchildren: Roseanna Starr and Cora Ann Roof and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Charles Mayfield.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Ronnie Floyd officiating.
Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
[NOTE: The obituary has her name listed as Cora Bell Lawrence Mayfield and the original funeral home marker also had had her name listed as Cora Bell Mayfield even though the obituary did show that she was survived by "one husband Patrick Thompson, Jr.". When the family placed a permanent marker at the grave, they added the Thompson surname.]
