J.C. McGhee, 75, of Van Buren, died November 27, 2007 in Van Buren. He was a retired employee of the Allen Canning Company. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ellen McGhee of the Home; three daughters, Linda and husband Wayne Alverson of Conway, AR., Pat and husband Don Wyatt of San Jose, CA., and Fran McGhee of Rogers, AR; one son, Robert Miller of Van Buren; one sister, Betty Lou Belt of Van Buren and one brother Billy Joe McGhee of Van Buren, AR; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Mae Davis and Laura Mae Morse, and two brothers, Charles Linton McGhee and Herbert Lee McGhee. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the Dyer Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jack, Ronnie and David Emmert, Randy Johnson, Jody, Jonathan, Ronnie and Randy McGhee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Loomis, Chester Fisher, Jesse Jackson, and Darrell Wheeler

Ellen McGhee, 91, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 in Perryville, AR.
She was born October 14, 1926 in Fort Smith, AR to the late Daniel and Lavada Loomis.
She had retired from Allen Canning and had worked in the nursery at Faith Christian Center in Alma and Butterfield Assembly of God in Van Buren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Miller and J.C. McGhee and her sister, Billie Jo Emmert.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Alverson and her husband Wayne of Conway, AR, Pat Wyatt and her husband Don of Nampa, ID; son, Robert Miller and his wife Lenora of Van Buren, AR; two sisters, Judy Bain of Bentonville, AR, Syble Gaugh of Perryville, AR; brother, Daniel Loomis and his wife Barbara of Lafayette, LA; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild on the way.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel in Van Buren with burial to follow at Dyer Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
