Mrs. Trudie Mae Davis, age 75 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Monday, June 22, 2015 in Texarkana, Texas. Trudie was preceded in death by her Mother Violet Daugherty(Granny)Barber, Father,(Papaw) Joe Daugherty, Brothers Paul Ray and Denver Daugherty and her precious daughter, Angelia Kay Evans Mixon. Trudie was born in the Shover Springs area on June 26th,1939. She attended 1 year of school in Hope, then 11 years in the Guernsey School District. She then worked in Dallas, Texas for Southwestern Bell Telephone, before transferring to Pecos, Texas, where she married and gave birth to Angelia K. Evans. She then attended Beauty School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In 1961 in Hope, she gave birth to Tonya Lynne. Tonya is married to James W. Wurman Jr. and resides in Spring, Texas.
Trudie is survived by three sisters; Hazel Freeman and husband Jimmy of Hope, Arkansas, Jeanette Foster of Benton, Arkansas and Joanne Brown of Dallas, Texas plus a very special Sister-in-Law, Jane. In addition, she was blessed with five grandchildren Dani Wootin, Nate Askew, Matt Mixon, Jacob and Dane Wurman. Followed by, seven great-grandchildren, Deanna Askew and Chasity Wynn and the Wurman bunch, Sawyer, Ryan, Lilly Beth, Cooper and baby James; many nieces, nephews and in-laws, all of whom her Granny loves very much.
Trudie wants everyone to know she had a good life and is going home to meet her loved ones.
There will be no formal visitation.
Memorial service is 10:00am, Friday, July 3, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel in Hope, Arkansas with Bro. Charles Jones officiating. Funeral arrangements by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope.
