Jewell was a member of Sunny Side New Hope Church. She loved hearing and reading the Word of God. She played the guitar and piano from a young age and loved listening to and singing songs about the Lord. One of her favorite things was spending time with her family. Jewell was amazed with nature; she stood in awe of the beauty God created on this earth, from clouds and sunsets, mountains and rivers, to the colors of the leaves and impressions in even the smallest rocks. She used to say "If God created this much beauty for us here, just imagine what heaven will be like." Her favorite flower was the yellow rose and her favorite song was "How Great Thou Art."
One scripture that describes the anticipations she had in this life is Psalms 27:4 One thing I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord.
