Mary Fannie Byrd Scroggins, age 82, of Hermitage, AR. died Sunday August 11, at Chapel Woods Nursing Home. Born January 27, 1931 in Bradley County, AR. a daughter of the late George Walker Byrd and Winnie Wiloat Hines Byrd she was a homemaker, farmer, member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of J.C. Scroggins. Also, preceding her in death was a daughter Lizzie Jane Scroggins, brothers Tommy Byrd, Willie Byrd and 2 grandchildren. Survivors are 4 sons Billy Dale Scroggins and spouse Sherrill, Fountain Hill, AR., Eddie Charles Scroggins and spouse Beverly, Hermitage, AR., Roger Dale Scroggins, Summerville, GA., Jerry Wayne Scroggins and spouse Sherry, Hampton, AR. 4 daughters Carolyn Ann Wagnon and spouse Thomas, Hermitage, AR., Becky Louise Ashcraft and spouse Floyd, Warren, AR., Melissa Jane Burson and spouse Kelly, Mary “Deannie” Gardner and spouse Jim all of Hermitage, AR. 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews and all the community kids who called her Mammaw Mary. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 13, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Inzer and Rev. Gene Boyette officiating. Lavern Freeman was pianist and Christy Pepper sang. Burial was in Gravelridge Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Marty Wilkerson, David Wilkerson, Mike Wilkerson, Jerry Lynn Hollingsworth, James Robert Gardner and Ashly White. Honorary pallbearers were Victor Myers, Cloyce Smith, David McDougald, Curt Howard, Thomas Rice, Bill Edwards, Terry Reynolds, Doyle Reynolds, Rev. Don Smith, Lee Freeman and Dr. Joe H. Wharton.
