Maxine Edra Holloway, 97, of Hiwasse died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at a local skilled care center. She was born August 11, 1918 in Decatur the daughter of Ora Blanch Cash and John F. Burrow. She was a member of the Hiwasse Home Demonstration Club, also she worked for the Gravette News Herald for many years where she wrote the Hiwasse news. Also she was a member of the Benton County Historical Society. She enjoyed writing short stories to share with everyone.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, and her husband whom she married October 3, 1942 Laurence L. Holloway. A note from Maxine, "My greatest accomplishment was raising my children for they are my blessings, in this old world. I hope for a reunion in Heaven for us all, in the mean time, may God be with you all, is my prayer."
Maxine is survived by: two sons; Larry Holloway and his wife Mary, of Hiwasse, Loren Holloway and his wife Denice, of Noel, Missouri, two daughters; Lamarise Henry and her husband Dale, of Bella Vista, Carolyn Taylor and her husband Harold, of Garfield, 37 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at Southside Church of Christ of Rogers. Funeral service will be: Monday at 10 a.m. at Hiwasse Church of Christ, with Gene Roberts, Jackie Chesnutt, and Robert Holloway officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse.
