Edith Philomena Brusco Veach, 80, of Belpre died Nov. 6, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Staten Island, NY, Edith was one of 22 children born to the late Gelardo and Lucia Brusco. She was Cub Scout Den Mother of Den 3, Troop 91 for 8 years. A member of Calvary Community Church of Belpre for 53 years, Edith was a beloved Sunday School for 34 years. She sang in the Choir and was a soloist, served as President of the Ladies Fellowship and was formerly the Missions Secretary. She was owner of KIDS STUFF toys 1976 - 1996 and was a regular at Belpre Homecomings. She is best loved and known for all her Italian spaghetti dinners served to friends and community. Survivors include her six children, 22 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren: Son Michael, and wife, Margaret, and their children, Teresa, and husband, Matthew Sgroi, and great-grandchildren Matthew and Benjamin, Michael, and wife, Hannah, and great-grandchildren Shaelin and Mackenzie, Aaron and great-granddaughter Kayli, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lisa, and husband, Joe Silvestri, Rachel, Justin, Christina, Jessica, and Lauren Veach, of Staten Island, N.Y.; her son, David, and wife, Peggy, and their children, Joshua, Timothy, of Charleston, SC, and Charlene Veach, of Waterford, OH; her son, Clinton, and wife, Angela, and their son, Anthony Veach, all of North Charleston, S.C.; her daughter, Karen, and husband, Tom Schon of Davie, FL; her daughter, and twin to Karen, Kathy Omer and children, Esther, and husband Zackary Wood, of White Bluff, TN, Caleb, Hannah and Sarah, all of Sunrise, FL; and son, Paul, and wife Rachel, and their children, Gina, Jonathan, Laura, Stephen, and Jessica Veach, all of Maumelle, AR; and three brothers, John and Fiore Brusco of Staten Island, NY, and Albert Brusco, and wife, Elsie, of Eastampton, NJ, and one sister-in-law, Barbara, and husband, Blane Stanley of Center Ridge, AR. She is preceded in death by Clinton A. Veach, husband of 49 years, and 18 brothers and sisters. Services will be Thursday 2:30 PM at Calvary Community Church in Belpre with Pastors Clay Sloan and Ken Fullerton officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Center Ridge, AR. Visitaiton will be Wednesday 1-3 and 5-8 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre. Memorials may be made to WCVV Radio Station, in care of Calvary Community Church or mailed to PO Box 405, Belpre, OH, 45714.
