When John Lanni was born on June 9, 1912, in Center Ridge, Arkansas, his father, Natale, was 32 and his mother, Antonia, was 28. He married Elizabeth Ann 'Lib' Nagel on April 10, 1937, in Crestline, Ohio. They had one child during their marriage. He died on July 2, 1994, at the age of 82, and was buried in his hometown.
