Oliver Wendell McElhaney, age 86, of Ozark, left his earthly home and went to his eternal reward on April 15, 2018. He was born on Dec 28, 1931 in Ozark, AR to the late Oliver Sr. and Emma Knefely McElhaney. He was a member of Ozark First Assembly of God, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday school for many years. He helped build the church that is currently being used. His occupations included truck driving and poultry producing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Onie Elvira McElhaney; two sons, Steven and David McElhaney; and four sisters and a brother.
Oliver is survived by two sons Terry McElhaney, and Char of Clovis, California and Jim McElhaney and wife Regina of Ozark; and three grandsons, a granddaughter, and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Thursday April 19th from 6-8pm at Shaffer funeral home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. The Funeral will be held 10:00 AM Friday, April 20, 2018 at Shaffer Funeral Home with Brother Joe Lancaster officiating and burial at Mountain View Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Randy Bowman, Jerry Trotter, Aaron Clauson, Sam Baccum, Chris Herriage, and Dusty Lane. Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Willis and Lionel Elder.

Onie Elvira McElhaney, 84, of Ozark died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, in Fort Smith.
She was born Jan. 2, 1932 in LaGrange, Ga.
She was a retired poultry farmer and member ofOzark First Assembly of God Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with and burial at Mt. View Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Oliver Wendall McElhaney of Ozark; three sons, Terry McElhaney of Clovis, Calif., Steven McElhaney of the home and James McElhaney of Ozark; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Sam Baccam, Randy Bowman, Aaron Clanson, Chris Herriage, Dusty Lane and Jerry Trotter.
