When Carmalla Paladino was born on February 25, 1889, in Center Ridge, Arkansas, her father, Barbato, was 28, and her mother, Donata, was 21. She married Camillo (Kell) DeSalvo on December 15, 1904. They had eight children in 11 years. She died on February 3, 1925, in her hometown at the age of 35, and was buried there.
