Erma Sarah Johnston, age 95, of Banks, AR. died Sunday August 10, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. Born April 13, 1913, in Banks, AR. a daughter of the late Walter C. Loomis and Eunice Bradford Loomis she was a homemaker, retired from Jack Winter, member Banks Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of James N. Johnston who died November 4, 1967. They were united in marriage September 4, 1927. Also, preceding her in death was a son Herbert W. “Buddy” Johnston, daughter in law Eva Jane Johnston, brothers Kneath Loomis, Sr., Francis Loomis, Travis Loomis, Claude Loomis, Preston Loomis, John Ira Loomis, D.L. Loomis, sisters Pervie Stewart and Pearl Sparks. Survivors are 4 sons Gilbert Johnston and spouse Lucretia, Valpraiso, FL., Larry Johnston and spouse Janell, Spring, TX., David H. Johnston and spouse Pauline, Conroe, TX., Reed Johnston and spouse Jodie, Conroe, TX., 1 daughter Ginger Adams and spouse Reece, Banks, AR., 1 sister Myra Mulcare and spouse John, Livingston, TX., 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 14, Banks Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Rinehart and Rev. Scott Meaders officiating. Burial was in McFarland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Don Johnston, Mickey Johnston, Marty Johnston, Dale Johnston, Jamie Johnston, Dennis Johnston, Jason Johnston, Jonathan Johnston, Jimmy Johnston and Mark Johnston.
