Geneva Catherine “Nanny” McMurry, age 86, of Banks, AR. died Wednesday January 19, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home. Born August 14, 1918, in Bradley County a daughter of the late Will Clements and Allie Cook Clements she was a retired head housekeeper for D.R. James, retired Jack Winter, homemaker, member Yorktown Baptist Church and the widow of Lee McMurry who died March 11, 1984. They were united in marriage December 24, 1938. Also, preceding her in death was a son Kelly McMurry, a granddaughter Denise McMurry, a brother Herschell Clements and sisters Ruth Culpepper and Norma Clements. Survivors are 1 son Hoyle Carrol McMurry and spouse Sue of Banks, AR. 1 daughter in law Candy McMurry of El Dorado, AR. 2 brothers J.W. Clements of Yuma, AZ. and Houston Clements of Ola, AR. 1 sister Alyene Weatherford of Yorktown, AR. 5 grandchildren Richard McMurry and spouse Mary Ann of El Dorado, AR., Daniel McMurry and spouse Carolyn of Banks, AR. Jeffrey Daniel “Danny” Sloan and spouse Sanci of Smackover, AR., Sam McMurry and spouse Johnna Sue of Banks, AR and Scott McMurry of El Dorado. 6 great-grandchildren Angel Stevenson, Carrie McMurry, Cody McMurry, Marti McMurry all of Banks, AR, Chris Sloan and Alex Sloan both of Smackover, AR. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 22, at Frazer’s Chapel by Rev Robert Green and Rev. B. K. Harris. Janice Sullivan was the organist and Karen Weatherford the soloist. Burial was in McFarland Cemetery at Banks by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Lynn Weatherford, Donnie Weatherford, randy Weatherford, Gerald Mitchell, Charles Wolfe and Clyde Herman Clements.
