Audrey Ray Whisonant, age 66, of Conway, Arkansas, was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 13, 2016. He was born September 5, 1949 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late Shirley Ann Whisonant. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Menifee Church of Christ. He enlisted and served with the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a truck driver with a moving company for many years. After retiring, he enjoyed scrapping metal, bowling and playing bingo but was most famous for selling watermelons. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann Whisonant; wife, Elva Whisonant; brothers, Ralph Howard and Nazareth Howard; sister, Deborah East; daughter, Terri Walls; and grandchild, Lashei Beamon. He leaves to cherish his memories, four daughters, Loretta (Deon) Moore, Carol Kilpatrick all of Morrilton; Sheila Beamon of Chicago, Illinois, and Carrie (Wendall) Moore of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Audrey Henson of Conway and Kristopher (Sharmin) Whisonant of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Michael (Diana) Howard of Arizona; and Nathan Howard of Indiana; two sisters, Joyce (Aubrey) Blue of Temple, Texas; and Rosie Briggs of Bakersfield, California; grandchildren, DeAndre (Meagan), Courtney, Juwan, Takeshia, Celeste, Anthony, Skyler, Braxton, Matthew, Meagan, MacKenzie, Brian, David, Daisha, Aarron, and Tasha; six great grandchildren, and best friend, Howard Carter of Russellville; brother-in-law, Sam Strickland; sister-in-law, Debbie Forrester, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, at Harris Chapel with Bro. Kristopher Whisonant officiating. Burial will be at Bold Pilgrim Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at the funeral home.
