William Franklin (Frank) Shurley, 76, of Clarksville died Monday, December 31, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center. He was a native of the Springhill Community, son of the late Edward and Lillie Conway Shurley, graduate of Hartman High School, a long time employee of Hardwicke Funeral Home, a retired employee of Greenville Tube Company, member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as head usher for many years, and was an active volunteer in community affairs having served on the Johnson County Peach Festival Board, the Mustard Seed Ministries and the Kendall Cemetery Board. Survivors include his widow, Hardena Whorton Shurley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Ewing Cline, Sid Kern, Kent Cecil, Phillip Jacobs, Lavon Stumbaugh, and John Howell.

Hardena Shurley was born August 16, 1918 in Yale, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late George and Amanda Lane Whorton. She died April 16, 2009 at Clarksville Health & Rehab, Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 90. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist Faith. She was preceded in death by husband, William Frank Shurley; sisters, Hazel Roberts, Helena Mathis, Mable Casey; brother, Virgil Whorton. She leaves behind 1 sister, Pearl Dunn of Edmond, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews, Raymond Casey of Odessa, Texas, Harrold Roberts of Pasadena, Texas, Charles Roberts of Edmond, Oklahoma, Elaine Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of special friends.
Pallbearers were Kent Cecil, Clyde Patterson, Raymond Patterson, Bonnie Funderburg, Don Chappell, Chris Chappell. Honorary Pallbearer was John Howell.
