Murdered by a young pfc stationed at Ft Bliss Tx who was from Buffalo NY (hitchhiking). He shot Orvid with a little derringer gun and stole ~ $35 and his Caddie convert. Authorities caught up with Lewis in Prestonburg VA not knowing he had murdered.

1st man to die in Parchman MS Pen. gas chamber ~1 1/2 years after conviction . He was originally sentenced to the electric chair; however, State of MS stopped using the "Chair".
