Scott Walton Stumbaugh, age 55, died October 2, 2011, in Fort Smith. He was born October 13, 1955 in Clarksville, Arkansas to Leon and Anna Stumbaugh. He graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He then moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas where he earned a bachelor of science degree in general business from Arkansas State University.After graduating, he moved to Fort Smith to accept a position as a conductor with Union Pacific Railroad. During this time, he married Carol Shawn Crowley also of Fort Smith and together they had 2 children, James and Lynsey. After many years working with the railroad, he accepted a sales position at Wal-Mart in order to spend time with his family. Scott dedicated over 10 years of service to the company and in 2009 was promoted to zone marketing manager of Wal-Mart Store #0141 in Fort Smith. Those who knew Scott would describe him as a wise, hard-working man with a great sense of humor. To his family, he will always be remembered as a loving father, brother and husband. His passion for his family extended to his hobbies. He enjoyed researching genealogy and happily shared his findings with those around him. He was a sports enthusiast, and loved to spend a Saturday watching college football. Scott was also a baseball fan and even owned a baseball signed by his favorite player, Ted Williams. He also found time to delve into academics, his favorite subject being history.
