When George E Hesselbein was born in 1908 in Arkansas, his father, Edward, was 22 and his mother, Ollie, was 18. He married Hallie M Hesselbein on December 24, 1929. They had three children during their marriage. He died on June 3, 1974, in Morrilton, Arkansas, at the age of 65, and was buried in Center Ridge, Arkansas.
