Farris Lee (F L "Red") Skaggs, 78, of Clarksville died Sunday, October 26, 2003, at Ozark. He was a retired licensed real estate broker and appraiser, self-employed businessman including an excavation construction company and military surplus heavy equipment business, served in the U S Army 7th Armored Division and 48th Armored Infantry Battalion in World War II, recipient of a Purple Heart award, Bronze Star, and the US Army Distinguished Service Cross for his participation in various battles including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a son of the late Sidney Floyd and Annie Rose Skaggs, and was preceded in death by 1 brother, Earnest Loyd (Bob) Skaggs; and 2 infant siblings. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marietta Janie Whitson Skaggs; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Jackie Dobbins of Van Buren, and Connie and Kenn Young and Peggy and John Brown, all of Clarksville; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Tim and P J Skaggs of Ozark; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and James Gipson, Hazel and Mervin Farris, and Edith and John Chrisman, all of Clarksville, and Roseanna and Les Woodard of Oklahoma; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Lester and Frances Skaggs and Ira Skaggs, all of Clarksville; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Estelle, Todd Dobbins, Greg Massengale, Jeff Massengale, Dale Wright, and Lucas Skaggs.

Marietta Janie Whitson Skaggs was born October 16, 1927, in Spadra, Arkansas, and died July 29, 2016, in Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband, Farris Lee Skaggs, and her parents, Columbus and Ella Belle Whitson. She is survived by a son, Timothy Skaggs and wife,P J, of Ozark, Arkansas; 3 daughters, Pamela Dobbins and husband, Jackie, of Mountainburg, Arkansas; Connie Young and husband, Kenn, of Clarksville, and Peggy Brown and husband, John, of Clarksville; 8 grand children; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Greg Massengale, Jeff Massengale, Lucas Skaggs, Dale Wright, Mark Estelle, and Dewayne Evans. Honorary Pallbearers will be Amanda Estelle, Ginger Brown, and Jennifer Evans.
