Clifton Franklin Cash, 87, of Clarksville, Arkansas, died Saturday, May 16, 2009. He was born on Monday, November 21, 1921, in Butlerville, Arkansas, to the late William Marion and Mary Whorton Cash. He retired from the Soil and Water Conservation Service after thirty years, he was a member of the Clarksville First United Methodist Church, was an active member of the Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, the D A V, and was an Army Veteran, having served as a Medic Paratrooper. His civic service extended well beyond into many other organizations including the Boy Scouts. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Bandy Cash; 1 daughter, Fonda Cash of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 1 son, Gary Cash of Clarksville, Arkansas; and 3 grandchildren, Jason Cash of Little Rock, Arkansas, Nathan Cash of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Sean Lewis of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Mr. Cash is preceded in his death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Ewing Cline, Philip Taylor, Sammy Wish, L J Simms, Don Dougan, Jack Phillips, and Ken Hester. Members of the Clarksville Lions Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
