When John Sterling Sims was born on September 30, 1873, in Arkansas, his father, William, was 30 and his mother, Alice, was 30. He married Sarah McNew on July 26, 1891. They had six children in 13 years. He died on June 4, 1964, in his hometown at the age of 90.
