March 19, 1895 - August 27, 1974
Thomas Kirtley Elliott, 79, of 601 Rock Island Right-of-Way, died Tuesday night in a Magnolia hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold S. Carter and the Rev. Bruce Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Mr. Elliott was born March 19, 1895, in Bernice, La., and was the son of John Clark and Mattie Grafton Elliott. He was a residence of Union County since 1923 and was a retired Missouri-Pacific railroad conductor. Mr. Elliott was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, the Men's Bible Class, the Brotherhood of Trainmen, Masonic Lodge No. 13, F&AM, and the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include one son, John Tom Elliott of Magnolia; one daughter, Mattye Sioux of El Dorado; one brother, William Printice Elliott, of Monroe, La.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service time. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Mary Elliott, 506 W. Eighth St. (El Dorado News-Times - August 29, 1974)
