Mrs. Eula Joiner Harman, 81, of 1213 S. West Ave., died late Saturday afternoon in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Bolding, Ark. Oct. 1, 1894, the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Kelly and John Hardy Joiner. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, and a pioneer resident of Union County. She was the widow of John W. Harman, former Union County sheriff. She was a member of UDC and the El Dorado Garden Club. She was one of the planters of the magnolia trees on Champagnolle Road. Survivors include one granddaughter, Miss Margaret Mentil of El Dorado; one grandson, M. F. (Bill) Beaton of El Dorado; two great-grandsons, Norman (Skip) and Richard Harman Beaton of El Dorado; and several nieces and nephews. Services were at 10 a.m. Monday in the First Methodist Chapel, with Dr. C. Ray Hozendorf officiating. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery under direction of Young's. The body was taken to the family residence at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and remain there until time for the service. Active pallbearers will be Mode Norris, Edgar Joiner, E. B. Cobb, Charles Cobb, John W. Griffin, Claude Crumpler, Sam E. Babb and Ralph Robertson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be R. B. Wilson, Dr. Joe B. Wharton, Jr., Frank Hudson and R. S. Bradenburg.
