June 6, 1888 - July 27, 1964
Dan H. Craw3ford, 76, Mt. Holly Rd., died Monday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Crawford, a retired postal employe, was born June 6, 1888, the son of Dan W. and Mary Howard Crawford, and was a lifelong resident of Union County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a veteran of World War I, holding the rank of captain in the U. S. Army, and an active member of the Senior Citizens Club. He was a member of NARCE, Inc. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sadie Hammond Crawford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Don Harbuck officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Purcell. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, under the direction of Young's. Active pallbearers will be the following nephews of Mr. Crawford: Sam Crawford, Jr., Sam Hays Crawford, Dan Crawford, C. A. Stafford, Clifford Jackson, Jim Lester, L. D. Andrews and Bill Hammond. Employe of the Post office and members of the Senior Citizens Club will be honorary pallbearers.
