August 5, 1881 - December 28, 1964
J. F. Honeycutt, 83, a former resident of El Dorado, died Monday afternoon in a Dallas hospital following a long illness. Mr. Honeycutt was born Aug. 5, 1881 in Athens, La., and was the son of J. B. and Nancy Carr Honeycutt. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of El Dorado and of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 706. Mr. Honeycutt had been a resident of l Dorado since 1923 before moving to Dallas only four months ago. Survivors include a son, G. F. Honeycutt of New Orleans; three daughters, Mrs. George Riggin of Dallas, Mrs. W. L. Cupit of Wichita Falls, Tex., and Mrs. Vernon Elkins of San Antonio, Tex.; four brothers, Ira Honeycutt, Will Honeycutt and Arthur Honeycutt, all of El Dorado, and John Honeycutt of McCaskill, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. Marion W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under direction of Rumph. The body will be brought overland to El Dorado Tuesday night. (The El Dorado Times - December 29, 1964)
